The new Standards and Guidelines and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Diagnostic Medical Sonography are effective January 1, 2012.

CAAHEP receives recognition from CHEA. At its September 2011 meeting, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation's Board of Directors reviewed the recommendation of the CHEA Committee on Recommendation and accepted the committee's recommendation and granted recognition to the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

 

At its September 16th meeting, the CAAHEP Board of Directors approved the Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician.  These new Standards are now in effect and can be viewed at the following link.

 

The CAAHEP Board of Directors also approved the Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Anesthesia Technology and the Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Human Lactation and Breastfeeding.  Please visit the Standards and Guidelines page to view these new Standards.

 

The CAAHEP Board took accreditation action on 53 programs at its November 18, 2011, meeting. Follow this link to find a CAAHEP accredited program.

View ASPA'S YouTube Video:  "Specialized and Professional Accreditation: What Should I Know?"  The Association of Specialized & Professional Accreditors (ASPA) has developed a YouTube video on behalf of its 61 members, including CAAHEP, to help prospective students protect their tuition dollars by helping them learn what to ask about accreditation before they enroll in school.  It's a "must see" for prospective students!
